Dr. Le Truong Son shared about the advantages and challenges of developing into an interdisciplinary, multi-disciplinary university.

Sharing at the forum, Associate Professor - Dr. Pham Quoc Viet, Vice Principal of the University of Finance - Marketing, said that the design and implementation of interdisciplinary training programs at Vietnamese universities are being oriented and regulated in an important way, in order to meet the demand for high-quality, flexible human resources and adaptability to the modern labor market.

Regarding Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, Associate Professor Viet said that it is necessary to evaluate the school's resources to consider which model to implement appropriately. Pilot implementation of one to two majors to implement training according to the interdisciplinary model selected in step 1; the level of investment in facilities ensures the conditions for implementing the interdisciplinary program.

Dr. Le Truong Son, Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law, said that the school is a national key public university in the field of legal training. The school is gradually implementing a multidisciplinary development strategy, in which law still plays a key and core role.

"The development of interdisciplinary programs at the school needs to be carried out in a targeted and selective manner - based on the foundation of the law industry, closely related to the legal field, and most importantly, must meet the practical needs of society. This is both an opportunity to enhance the position, competitiveness and scope of influence of the school" - Dr. Son said.

High school students learn about training majors and visit facilities of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law

Previously, the working delegation of the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Justice had a working session with the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law and the Central College of Law on the contents of the Project to establish the Central Branch of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law on the basis of merging the Central College of Law.

After the project is approved, the branch will enroll and train undergraduate and postgraduate students, starting from the fourth quarter of 2025.
