Mr. Nguyen Hoang Nam (Thanh Vong Hamlet, Tan Trung Commune) started his mink farming business more than 4 years ago. From the initial 4 minks, he bred and raised a herd, selling 70 minks for 9 million VND/pair and more than 20 commercial minks for 1.3 million VND/kg each year. Currently, his family has 25 cages, including more than 15 females, which produce more than 100 offspring each year. On average, Mr. Nam's family earns more than 200 million VND/year from the mink farming model.

Mr. Nam said: “Before, my family's life was still difficult, then thanks to a friend's introduction, I saw that the mink farming model brought high income, mink were easy to raise, and food sources were available locally, so I decided to implement the model. I have been raising mink for 4 years now, and I find it very effective.”

Ms. Le Thi Dep (Lung Truong Hamlet, Quach Pham Commune) has been looking for ways to develop the economy from vegetables and has been implementing this model for more than 10 years. On an area of ​​3,000 m2 of garden land, Ms. Dep has divided the area into many areas to grow coconuts, pineapples and other fruit trees; in addition, she grows many crops of vegetables during the year depending on suitable weather conditions, both providing a source of food for daily meals and earning an additional income of more than 20 million VND per year. Ms. Dep's family only uses biological fertilizers, manually kills pests and harmful weeds to produce clean products for the market. Ms. Dep said: "My family grows vegetables continuously, divides areas to grow fruit trees and takes care of them regularly. On average, each month, the revenue from selling vegetables and fruit trees is a few million VND, very stable."

In 2016, with a loan of 10 million VND from the District Farmers' Fund, Mr. Bao Thanh Hai (Tan An Ninh B Hamlet, Ta An Khuong Nam Commune) started building a pig pen to raise 12 pigs. Raising pigs was profitable, so he invested in raising crabs. With a crab pond of 1,600 m2, from April to November, he harvested 250-300 kg each month, deducting expenses, he still made a profit of 40-50 million VND. The crabs were sold in Ca Mau City, so the price was more stable than selling locally. From December to January was the time to renovate the pond. Income from crab farming helped Mr. Hai's family build a house worth over 300 million VND in 2018.

“Currently, my children are also implementing the crab farming model. Besides maintaining the model, I also support many other farmers with crab farming techniques,” said Mr. Hai.
