Volunteer for the community
Ms. Trang was born and raised in the coastal city of Nha Trang. After graduating from the English Language Department of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City, she decided to stay in Ho Chi Minh City to start a career. She became a guest English lecturer at many universities in Ho Chi Minh City. Every time she returned to Nha Trang to visit her relatives, she saw the Khanh Hoa People Speak English program introduced on the street, so she learned about it. In 2024, due to family circumstances, she temporarily stopped working in Ho Chi Minh City to return to the coastal city to take care of her mother. Seeing that the program was interesting, she registered to volunteer and teach for many clubs.

Ms. Trang shared: “The first time I came to class, I saw many older women studying, so I was quite surprised. When studying, everyone was very excited, which motivated me to continue thinking and finding better ways to teach. When I volunteered, I had the opportunity to impart a lot of knowledge about English and create joy for students through lessons. This was also an opportunity for me to contribute part of my efforts to my hometown. At first, I just thought it was for fun, to ease my longing for the job, but the more I taught, the more I realized that I learned a lot from the students.”

Although she is busy taking care of her sick mother and working, she still spends time teaching English at clubs. Currently, Ms. Trang is volunteering at 5 clubs: Tan Tien Women's English Club; Cho Dam English Club; Thanh Tam Boarding House English Club; Nha Trang Center and Diamond Bay English Club; Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism English Club. Every day (except Wednesdays), she teaches at 1 club. Each club meets once a week for 1.5 hours/session. The students of the clubs she teaches are of many ages. Therefore, in order for students to understand and grasp the lessons, Ms. Trang prepares lessons suitable for each age group based on the prescribed program content. In each class, she helps students review vocabulary, learn new words, pronunciation, correct reading for each student, explain meanings and illustrate with vivid pictures. The classroom atmosphere is always cheerful, so learning English becomes easy and comfortable. Ms. Ngo Thi Loan - member of Tan Tien Women's English Club shared: "Ms. Trang is very enthusiastic, her lessons are easy to understand, and her learning methods are easy to remember, so I absorb the lessons better."

Dedicated and responsible in every lecture
Every day, Ms. Trang spends 3 hours designing lessons using Power Point and finding illustrations, preparing lessons suitable for each subject. She researches and studies to create a different game each day to create a fun atmosphere and help students review vocabulary, sentences, dialogues, etc. For older students, she will teach the lesson more slowly so that students can remember and keep up. She also designs homework based on available websites for students to review lessons, do exercises, and earn bonus points.

“There are many older students who study very seriously and enthusiastically participate in games to remember what they have learned. That is the motivation for me to try every day to share English knowledge with everyone. When I see students participating in competitions and winning awards confidently going abroad, I am very happy because through that trip, people will have a new perspective on the world and change their lifestyle for the better, improving their health. Through them, I want young people to understand that learning is fun,” Ms. Trang confided.

Not only is she a lecturer with solid expertise, Ms. Trang also leaves an impression with her confident, flexible and engaging teaching style. The lessons she teaches are always lively with many interactive activities, creating an exciting and friendly atmosphere for learners. This has helped people approach English in a natural, easy-to-understand and inspiring way. With her dedication, responsibility and community spirit, Ms. Trang and other volunteers have created the achievements of the project. She is a beautiful example of love for her homeland and dedication for the benefit of the community.
