Before being deployed nationwide, E10 gasoline will be piloted in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Hai Phong from August 1.
Several large petroleum companies such as Petrolimex and PVOil are urgently preparing infrastructure, including storage tanks, distribution systems, and training staff to serve the supply of this new product.

In Ho Chi Minh City, there are 36 Petrolimex gas stations (from station number 1 to 36) that will sell this fuel. The stations are mainly located on major roads in the central area such as: Hai Ba Trung, Pham Hong Thai, Vo Thi Sau, Truong Dinh, Le Van Sy, Ly Thuong Kiet,...
In Hanoi, there are 4 PVOil stores participating in the pilot sale: Thai Thinh (Dong Da), Lien Ninh (Ngoc Hoi), Nghia Tan (Cau Giay) and Chau Can (Phu Xuyen). Meanwhile, Hai Phong has 2 E10 gasoline selling points in Hai An and Thuy Nguyen wards.
According to the retail price list from Petrolimex, E10 gasoline will be sold at VND19,490/liter in region 1 and VND19,870/liter in region 2. This price is VND540 - 560/liter cheaper than RON95-V gasoline, and VND210 - 220/liter lower than RON95-III, but about VND220/liter higher than E5 gasoline.

The deployment of E10 gasoline aims to provide more environmentally friendly options while still ensuring higher performance than the currently popular E5.
According to research, E10 gasoline is a biofuel mixed with 90% traditional mineral gasoline and 10% ethanol, a bioethanol extracted from renewable resources such as sugarcane, cassava, corn...
Thanks to its high oxygen content, ethanol helps the fuel mixture burn more thoroughly in the combustion chamber, thereby reducing toxic emissions such as CO and HC by up to 20% compared to mineral gasoline. This is an important improvement in the context of increasingly serious air pollution and climate change.

Not only does it bring environmental benefits, E10 gasoline is also highly appreciated in terms of technology. Blending ethanol with a high octane index will help increase the octane value of gasoline, making the combustion process in the engine more stable, improving operating efficiency and minimizing knocking - the cause of engine damage.
According to domestic and international studies, most new cars and motorbikes manufactured after 2010 (especially those with electronic fuel injection) are compatible with E10 gasoline. Vehicle owners who have previously used E5 gasoline stably can also continue to use E10 with confidence.
However, not all vehicles are suitable. Older vehicles (before 2005), or vehicles with carburetors (carburetors) may be affected because ethanol can corrode materials such as pipes and rubber gaskets in the fuel system. Some large displacement motorcycles or imported vehicles may also have problems if used for a long time.
Therefore, people should carefully consult the instructions from the car manufacturer and dealer before switching to using E10 gasoline, to ensure the suitability and safety of the vehicle.
