Many useful applications are deployed with the aim of forming "digital citizens"

According to the national digital transformation results report for May 2024, to date, the Ministry of Public Security has issued over 86 million chip-embedded citizen identification cards and collected over 75.16 million electronic identification records, activating over 53.88 million accounts (reaching 71.68%).

VNeID application is of interest to many people who use the convenient services provided on VneID such as: Residence notification service; recommendations and reflections on security and order; logging into the public service portal via VNeID.

Other convenient applications aimed at forming a digital citizen are also actively deployed by ministries and branches. In particular, the health sector continues to promote health insurance examination and treatment using chip-embedded citizen identification cards at 100% of health insurance examination and treatment facilities. To date, there have been more than 77 million successful searches of health insurance card information using personal identification numbers/citizen identification cards. This increases convenience for people when performing medical examination and treatment when it is not required to use health insurance cards when examining and treating, saving time and costs for both patients and health and social insurance agencies.

Many customers in rural, mountainous, remote and isolated areas use cashless payments.

Ministries, sectors and localities have also promoted the implementation of non-cash social security payments. Currently, 2,067,028 beneficiaries have been granted accounts (accounting for 41.25% of the total number of social security beneficiaries); more than 1.4 million beneficiaries have received subsidies through accounts (reaching 28.35% of the total number of social security beneficiaries). By the end of April 2024, there were more than 8.5 million customers using Mobile Money, of which the number of customers in rural, mountainous, remote and isolated areas reached more than 6.1 million customers, accounting for 72%. Nationwide, 11,885 business locations have been established, the total number of payment acceptance units reached 251,810 units; more than 77% of adults have payment accounts at banks.
