At the Department of Neurology, Duc Giang General Hospital is receiving many cases of mouth paralysis and facial paralysis due to paralysis of the 7th cranial nerve. Doctor Doan Van Phuc, Head of the Department of Neurology, Deputy Director of Duc Giang General Hospital, said that up to 80% of the causes of mouth paralysis and facial paralysis are due to subjectivity and not keeping the body warm in cold weather. Meanwhile, the number of patients with stroke, myocardial infarction, high blood pressure, etc. who have to be admitted to the emergency room at Hanoi Heart Hospital has also increased more than usual.

In the face of the prolonged cold, the Ministry of Health requires hospitals to strengthen cold prevention for patients and their families. Hospitals must ensure adequate provision of emergency medicine, enough beds, and ready means to promptly handle common emergencies such as cardiovascular diseases, strokes, acute respiratory infections, etc., which are more likely to occur in cold weather.

At the same time, it is necessary to ensure that there are enough blankets, heaters and means to maintain the appropriate temperature to prevent cold for patients during the examination and treatment process at the hospital. On the other hand, it is necessary to prevent cold for the patient's family members properly, not letting them lie in the hallway or on outdoor benches, which is harmful to their health.
