According to information from his family, musician Thanh Su (real name Nguyen Van Su) was born on February 27, 1957. He passed away at 9:55 p.m. on July 22, at the age of 71.
His passing leaves behind endless sorrow for his family and colleagues. He is currently a member of the Vietnam Musicians Association and former director of the Ben Tre Elderly Cultural House (formerly).

He is passionate about music, has been fascinated by music and lyrics since childhood. His composing ability was "inherited" from his father.
Musician Thanh Su studied at Hanoi University of Culture (faculty of mass culture) and Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music (music pedagogy).
He has worked at many positions at the Department of Culture and Information of Cho Lach district (formerly), former director of the Ben Tre province Elderly Cultural House (formerly), former president of the music branch of the Nguyen Dinh Chieu Literature and Arts Association and retired in 2017.
