On June 19, the Vietnamese Embassy in Berlin held a press conference to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) with the participation of VNA resident reporters and members of the Berlin Press Club.
Chairing the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany Vu Quang Minh recalled the glorious pages in the 100-year history of building revolutionary journalism since Leader Nguyen Ai Quoc founded Thanh Nien newspaper.
Since then, revolutionary journalism has become a sharp ideological weapon, a pioneering media flag in the struggle for national independence, building and defending the Fatherland.
Ambassador Vu Quang Minh highly appreciated the activities of the VNA Resident Office in Germany in closely following local information, bringing the image of Vietnam to international friends, and at the same time being a bridge of information between the homeland and the Vietnamese community abroad.
"VNA journalists in Germany, with a sense of responsibility and dedication, have made constant efforts to truthfully reflect information and achievements of the country, cultural values and Vietnamese people, as well as the vibrant activities of the Vietnamese community here," the Ambassador said.

Ambassador Vu Quang Minh also expressed special gratitude to journalists and media workers in the Vietnamese community in Germany who have helped spread beautiful stories about the homeland, solidarity and national identity, not only preserving the flame of Vietnamese culture in a foreign land but also contributing to building a strong, united and oriented Vietnamese community towards the Fatherland.
The Berlin Press Club started operating in 2019, on the occasion of the 94th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, bringing together community journalists in the Berlin-Brandenburg area.
At the meeting, the journalists also shared many of their thoughts and memories of journalism and the difficulties in maintaining community journalism in the future, when the first generation of Vietnamese people settling in Germany is old, while the second and third generations are not good at Vietnamese and are less attached to their homeland Vietnam.
On this occasion, the Vietnamese Embassy presented Certificates of Merit to VNA resident reporters and a number of community journalists for their contributions to community building and promoting friendly relations between the two nations./.
