Tax Department upgrades system, announces short-term service interruptions

(Chinhphu.vn) - The Tax Department has just announced that it will temporarily suspend many electronic tax systems from June 27 to July 1, 2025 to serve the upgrading of information technology systems. Taxpayers may experience temporary disruptions, but will still be supported through many other forms.

The Tax Department has just announced that it will temporarily suspend many electronic tax systems from June 27 to July 1, 2025 to serve the upgrading of information technology systems.

Synchronous upgrading, preparing for two-tier government and new regulations

On June 25, 2025, the Tax Department issued Notice No. 418/TB-CT on the suspension of many electronic tax systems from June 27 to July 1, 2025. This is an important step to implement new requirements on organizational structure and legal regulations related to tax, electronic identification and administrative reform.

According to the Tax Department, this upgrade of the information technology system aims to serve the requirements of arranging tax agencies according to the two-tier local government model, while ensuring compatibility with new regulations that will take effect from July 1, 2025. This adjustment is based on a series of legal documents recently issued by the National Assembly, the Government and the Ministry of Finance such as Resolution 202/2025/QH15, Decree 69/2024/ND-CP on electronic identification and authentication, or Decree 70/2025/ND-CP amending invoices and documents, etc.

In particular, the Tax Department emphasized the goal of synchronizing data, modernizing the process of serving people and businesses, and standardizing the way of operation between units in the national tax system.

List of suspended systems and specific times

According to the announcement, the systems that will be temporarily suspended include: Tax Department's electronic information page; Tax procedure service practice management application (THI); E-commerce information portal; Information portal for households and individuals doing e-commerce business and digital platform business; Electronic Tax application (eTax), eTax Mobile, iCanhan.

Electronic invoice system; Data exchange portal with external organizations (DataHub/GIP/T2B); Internal management system of the Tax industry.

Notably, the electronic invoice system for taxpayers will be suspended from 0:00 to 3:00 on July 1, 2025. Meanwhile, the Tax Department's official website will be suspended from 18:00 on June 27 to 8:00 on July 1, 2025.

However, some systems are still operating normally, especially the electronic portal for foreign suppliers.

Receive applications directly, commit to support taxpayers

Tax authorities will continue to receive and process tax administrative procedures directly at the one-stop department and via post during the process of upgrading and converting applications.

"During the suspension period, the system may experience service interruptions. The progress of settlement and return of results may be delayed. The tax authority sincerely apologizes and hopes to receive the understanding of taxpayers.
