Early in the morning, just after 5 o'clock when the sky was still foggy, but at Ong Dia rock beach, there were already hundreds of tourists standing on the shore to watch fishermen netting fish, catching crabs, and catching snails. The small boats and sampans swam about 300 - 500 meters from shore, casting nets, looking like illusions as they moved on the sea surface, rippling with waves, creating a very beautiful scene. Every now and then, a few boats pulled their nets to shore, the nets caught many different types of seafood, including all kinds of herring, mackerel, and some box fish struggling when brought ashore. When the net is pulled ashore, it is also the time when tourists and small seafood traders in the markets gather to choose fish, shrimp, snails, crabs... Whoever likes something chooses it themselves, many tourists see live fish caught in the net and point out "I choose that one, weigh it and sell it to me"... Nearby is the next net being pulled up, this net has more crabs so people who like to eat crabs rush over to buy. The scene in the morning at Ong Dia rock beach is as bustling as a festival. Ms. Hoang Ngoc Anh from Binh Phuoc and her family traveled to Phan Thiet and said: "Seafood is now sold everywhere, but the scene of seeing people fishing from the sea and then choosing fish, crabs, snails... is a very strange feeling". Mr. Dinh Phuong from Ho Chi Minh City came to Phan Thiet for a summer vacation: "My whole family loves coming here in the morning to watch people catch fish, the kids usually sleep in, but when they hear that they go to Ong Dia rock beach in the morning, they are excited to come along...". While speaking, Mr. Phuong pointed to the children who were choosing snails and crabs with their mother, "Look, you guys bought all kinds of things and then went back to the hotel to have them boiled and eaten. It's so delicious...." Uncle Ho Chinh, a fisherman in Phu Hai who often fishes in the coastal waters from Phu Hai to Ong Dia rock beach, said: “During the rainy season, a lot of water flows from rivers and streams to the sea, bringing food, so seafood gathers near the shore to hunt. From April to November, food flows from streams to the sea in abundance, so most seafood, from fish to crabs and snails, are plump and sweeter than in the dry season. My family has a small boat with a basket boat to fish near the shore. Although the species caught are not as large as those of offshore boats, in return, the goods are live, so they are sold not only to tourists but also to small traders who buy them to resell during the day at Phan Thiet markets, so they have a stable source of income... According to Uncle Chinh, boat owners or basket boat owners when pulling nets to sell to tourists often sell at the right market price, so tourists really like them. Many tourists when buying fish, snails, and crabs do not bargain but are generous in giving extra money to the net pullers...

In Phan Thiet, there are many places selling fresh seafood. In addition to Ong Dia rock beach, Mui Ne fishing village, Mui Ne market, Phan Thiet big market, tourists can buy crabs, live snails, swimming fish at some fresh seafood shops located on Nguyen Dinh Chieu street, Mui Ne - Ham Tien, Phan Thiet fishing port, Hung Vuong street, Trung Trac - Trung Nhi street, some markets such as Phu Thuy, Cam Sinh market, Van Thanh 3 market, seafood area on Le Thi Hong Gam street or Nguyen Hoi street... still have many people selling fresh seafood with many varieties from fragrant snails, lime snails, jumping snails to razor clams, scallops, cockles... All are transported 10 hours away and still fresh.

In the first 6 months of the year, Binh Thuan welcomed over 5,540 million visitors, reaching over 52% of the yearly plan, with a revenue of over 15,000 billion VND, which is quite impressive. There are many reasons why tourists coming to Phan Thiet are increasing and staying for a long time, one of which is that Phan Thiet has many types of rich and quality seafood thanks to the ocean currents and weather. High-quality fresh seafood combined with rustic and high-class processing creates a diverse and unique coastal cuisine such as grilled scallops with scallion oil, lime snail salad, horn snail, roundabout fish curry, hot pot, grouper hot pot, red snapper, mai fish salad, fried loach fish...
