Implementing the Central Government's policy, Gia Lai province has proactively deployed foreign affairs in a comprehensive and comprehensive manner in all areas: politics, economics, culture, science-technology, education-training, national defense-security and people's diplomacy. The province has also mobilized over 10 million USD in non-governmental aid for education, health, and social security programs, directly bringing practical benefits to the people, thereby demonstrating the role of "diplomacy for development".

Economic diplomacy - development driving force in the new period

In the context of deep international integration, Gia Lai province identifies economic diplomacy as a pillar and strategic driving force to attract resources, expand export markets, promote innovation and enhance competitiveness.

The province currently has 102 FDI projects with a total registered capital of about 2.3 billion USD, focusing on the processing and manufacturing industry, services, tourism and infrastructure. Export turnover in the period of 2021-2025 is estimated at over 8.1 billion USD, the province's goods are present in more than 100 countries and territories, in which key products such as coffee, pepper, rubber, processed wood are increasingly affirming their position in the international market. Trade activities through Quy Nhon port and Le Thanh International Border Gate are stable, contributing to connecting the marine economy, the Central Highlands with the region and the world.

These results confirm that economic diplomacy has become a strategic bridge, expanding development space, attracting international knowledge, technology and resources, gradually establishing a new position for the province. In that process, the Department of Foreign Affairs always plays a central role in consulting and coordinating, directly accompanying businesses, supporting foreign affairs procedures, ensuring a fast, favorable and effective cooperation environment.

New directions: semiconductors, artificial intelligence and digital transformation

Entering a new development phase, Gia Lai province has identified science, technology and innovation as a breakthrough, prioritizing the development of semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation. This is a strategic orientation in line with the trend of the fourth industrial revolution, aiming to create momentum for rapid and sustainable development and enhance the province's position in the global value chain.

In particular, the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE) in Quy Nhon Nam Ward has become a symbol of international scientific cooperation in the province.
