According to a survey by PV, in addition to traditional moon cakes such as roast chicken, ham, char siu, green beans, red beans, lotus seeds, green tea..., in the 2025 Mid-Autumn Festival season, manufacturers will also launch some new flavors to meet customer tastes.
Having dominated the moon cake market for many years, this year Kinh Do continues to launch cakes with melted lava choco filling, yuzu orange snow filling, Japanese green tea snow filling and a golden lion cake model for "young" customers.
Meanwhile, the Sanest Khanh Hoa bird’s nest brand has launched moon cakes for the first time alongside its signature baked cakes. In addition, there are also product lines using sugar-free and less sweetened products to meet consumer demand.
Not only focusing on changing the flavor and quality of the cake, manufacturers also innovate in the design of the packaging box with eye-catching and luxurious colors and patterns, suitable for buying as gifts during the Tet holiday.

According to records, the price of moon cakes this year has also been adjusted to increase slightly from 2,000-3,000 VND/piece. Ms. Bui Thi Thuy Oanh - Owner of Thuy Oanh grocery store (Dien Hong ward) said: Kinh Do moon cakes have prices ranging from 42,000 VND/piece for the sweet moon cake to over 400,000 VND/piece for the large moon cake with special filling. Meanwhile, Bibica moon cakes have prices from 51,000 VND/piece for the sweet moon cake to 130,000 VND/piece for the mixed filling.
Gift boxes also have a variety of prices, suitable for consumers' budgets. For example, for Sanest Khanh Hoa mooncakes, the price of a box ranges from around 350,000 VND/box/4 pieces to about 1,700,000 VND/box/4 pieces.

In addition to major brands, many local bakeries also launch handmade products specifically for the Tet holiday, priced from 55,000-75,000 VND/piece.
In Quy Nhon ward, Katelyn bakery launched the Proud of Vietnam mooncake line, attracting the attention of young people. The outstanding cakes are colored crimson from red bean powder, with prominent yellow motifs illustrating the map of Vietnam, a five-pointed yellow star and a bronze drum.

Mid-Autumn Festival 2025 falls on October 6 (solar calendar). Normally, ready-made mooncakes can be kept for 1-3 months; handmade mooncakes have a shelf life of 4-7 days depending on the type. Therefore, consumers should pay attention to check and buy the newest cakes to have the longest shelf life.
