According to the Telegraph , Newcastle's major shareholders, including the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, have given the green light for Isak to leave if the price is attractive enough. Nearly a month ago, Liverpool sent a £110 million offer to Newcastle to recruit Isak but was rejected.
Newcastle are now waiting for Liverpool to come back with a new, more attractive offer, around £130 million. This figure is significantly lower than the £150 million Newcastle have been asking for over a month.
Newcastle once tried to convince Isak to commit to the club long-term but failed. Currently, Isak is training separately and has expressed his desire to move to Liverpool for over 2 weeks.
Newcastle completed a record £69m deal to replace Isak from Stuttgart last week for Nick Woltemade, but are still on the lookout for another striker to bolster their attack.
Newcastle's scouting team failed to convince Brentford to sell striker Yoane Wissa, while Wolves are determined to keep hold of Jorgen Strand Larsen this summer.
If Isak leaves and Newcastle fail to sign another striker, manager Eddie Howe will be left with a lack of quality options at centre-forward.
