Newcastle determined to have Sesko. |
According to Athletic , Newcastle offered 75 million euros plus 5 million euros in add-ons for Sesko. This figure meets Leipzig's previous demand of 80 million euros.
Newcastle see Sesko as an ideal replacement if Alexander Isak leaves the club this summer. The Magpies face competition from Manchester United, who are also keeping a close eye on Sesko's situation.
The Slovenian striker has yet to make a final decision on his next destination. Arsenal had their eyes on Sesko before deciding to sign Viktor Gyokeres for 63.5 million euros.
Chelsea have also had Sesko on their radar for years, but opted to sign the duo of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro in June.
Sesko is under contract with Leipzig until 2029 after extending it last year. The deal includes a clause allowing him to leave if a suitable offer comes in. Sesko's previous contract had a €65m release clause.
Sesko joined Leipzig from Salzburg in 2023. Since then, he has made 87 appearances, scoring 39 goals and providing eight assists. Sesko made his Slovenia debut shortly after his 18th birthday and has scored 16 goals in 41 appearances. He has also featured at Euro 2024.
