Enhancing the role of scientific and technological information in socio-economic development

The workshop was organized by One World Magazine and Ho Chi Minh City National University. In addition, the conference also has discussion sessions on the topics: Strategic technologies of the rising era; needs and current status of science and technology information for the business community, universities, research institutes, etc.

In his opening speech at the conference, Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University Vu Hai Quan said: Ho Chi Minh City National University always appreciates the fundamental role of the science and technology information industry in building Vietnam's science and technology. In the current era of digitalization and globalization, science and technology information is the key to opening the door to knowledge, a bridge to help scientists and research institutions access the most advanced scientific achievements in the world.

Speaking at the workshop, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Huynh Thanh Dat shared: The workshop is a forum for scientists, managers, businesses and media agencies to exchange, debate and propose solutions, focusing on assessing the current situation of accessing and sharing science and technology information, analyzing trends and impacts of new and emerging technologies, improving the quality of information systems at universities and research institutes, and at the same time recommending appropriate mechanisms and policies to effectively manage, exploit and apply science and technology information.

“The contents of this discussion are both urgent and have long-term value, contributing to providing important scientific and practical arguments for the leadership, direction and policy making of the Party and State in the new period,” Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat emphasized.
