Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Rogelio Polanco Fuentes said that the exhibition “Autumn of Independence” has special significance as it introduces many valuable documents and artifacts, which are an important part of Vietnamese history. He highly appreciated the leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, and affirmed that the decisive factor for all victories is the solidarity of the Vietnamese people. It is the spirit of solidarity under wise leadership that helped Vietnam gain independence, overcome the war of aggression, and at the same time build a new society. This is a valuable lesson for many countries, including Cuba: only when the people are united and have the right leadership can great achievements be achieved.

The Ambassador also expressed his impression of Vietnam's strong development achievements in maintaining independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity while building an increasingly prosperous country. The Ambassador emphasized that this glorious historical heritage is the luggage and inspiration for the young generation of Vietnam to continue writing new pages of history for the nation in the era of integration and development.
Nguyen Duc Anh, a student of class 8A1, Giang Vo 2 Secondary School (Hanoi) expressed: “This is the first time I have seen with my own eyes the documents and artifacts associated with Uncle Ho. Before, I only learned about Uncle Ho and history through books, but when I saw it in person, I felt more clearly the difficulties and sacrifices that generations of fathers and brothers had gone through to gain independence. I see that history is no longer distant but very close, vivid and full of pride.”

Duc Anh added that the exhibition “Independence Autumn” helped him understand that to achieve today’s peace and development is a long and arduous journey. “That reminds the young generation like us to study well, train ourselves, and live responsibly to be worthy of the great contributions of Uncle Ho and previous generations. I hope that in the future I can contribute a small part to building an increasingly rich and civilized country.”
The thematic exhibition will be held at the Ho Chi Minh Museum from August 25, 2025 to December 25, 2025. |
