Highways spread development momentum
After more than 2 years of efforts, the Vung Ang – Bung expressway (through Ha Tinh , Quang Tri) has been basically completed, preparing to open on August 19. More than 55km long with a total investment of 12,540 billion VND, the project has many large-scale overpasses and tunnels, notably the Deo But tunnel – the most important road tunnel on the North – South section through Ha Tinh.

The team worked continuously in “3 shifts, 4 shifts”, sticking to the construction site in the spirit of “overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain” to keep up with the schedule. When put into operation, this expressway will not only relieve traffic pressure on National Highway 1 but also open up new development space for Ha Tinh and Quang Tri , while creating a strategic connection in the North-South expressway axis.

In Da Nang , the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway project is also being rushed to complete for technical traffic opening on the same day, August 19. This is a project with a total investment of more than 2,100 billion VND, of which the cost of site clearance accounts for nearly half. As of mid-August, the output has reached more than 81% of the contract value, with the main route alone reaching nearly 98%. In recent days, at the construction site, hundreds of workers and construction machinery have been working day and night, rushing to complete auxiliary items, traffic safety systems, and environmental sanitation.

In addition, the Central Highlands and South Central Coast regions have also recorded new advances in infrastructure. The Hoai Nhon – Quy Nhon and Quy Nhon – Chi Thanh expressway projects are being completed with a total length of 60km expected to open to traffic in September 2025. The Son Trieu tunnel on the Quy Nhon – Chi Thanh route has been basically completed and is awaiting operation.

In Gia Lai, the provincial People's Committee announced that it will inaugurate and start construction of 8 major projects, notably the Phu Cat Airport's runway No. 2, Phu My Industrial Park infrastructure, Nam Phu Phong bypass and the route connecting the west of Gia Lai to the sea. The total investment capital is nearly 10,000 billion VND, which is expected to open up strong development opportunities for the Northern Central Highlands region.

Highlights from education, services and urban
Not only transport infrastructure, many educational, commercial and service projects have also been started and inaugurated, creating more momentum for the Central region to develop in a balanced and sustainable manner.
In Hue City, the city plans to hold groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies for 10 projects on this important occasion. The most notable is the FPT Hue Education Complex in the An Van Duong New Urban Area, covering an area of nearly 9 hectares, meeting the learning needs of about 20,000 students.
Along with that, Hue also started construction of the Scavi Tu Ha Factory, commercial and service projects in the city center, and many other projects in the fields of education and production. Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Chief of Office of the Hue City People's Committee, affirmed: "These projects contribute to creating a diverse development foundation, making Hue a modern education, service and production center of the Central region".
In Da Nang, in addition to the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway, many projects funded by the state budget and socialized funds were simultaneously started, aiming to welcome the 23rd City Party Congress. In the group of state budget funds, the main drainage project from the Hoa Lien High-Tech Park to the flood drainage canal, the inner-city roads of Tay Giang and Nam Giang stood out. On this occasion, Da Nang also organized the groundbreaking ceremony for 6 projects of boarding schools, primary and secondary schools in border communes.

In particular, the non-budget capital group made its mark with 3 projects worth tens of thousands of billions of VND: Da Nang Downtown commercial and service complex combined with entertainment park (nearly 80,000 billion VND), Ba Na - Suoi Mo eco-tourism complex (over 51,000 billion VND) and Chu Lai - Truong Hai automobile mechanical industrial park expansion (1,433 billion VND).
