Meta has signed a cloud computing deal with Google worth more than $10 billion over six years, a source familiar with the matter said.

The source confirmed information posted on the technology news site The Information's article about the deal.

Under the deal, Meta will use Google's data center server, storage, networking and other services.

Meta has not yet commented on this information.

The deal with Meta is one of the largest in the 17-year history of Google's cloud computing division, according to the source.

In a recent earnings report, Alphabet, Google's parent company, said its cloud computing division is on track to hit $50 billion in revenue this year.

Meta, for its part, also reported strong Q2 financial results and significantly increased capital spending to $17 billion in the past quarter, primarily for investments in AI infrastructure. The company forecasts total capital spending for all of 2025 to range from $66 billion to $72 billion.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is spending big on artificial intelligence (AI), poaching top researchers from rivals like OpenAI and Apple with generous compensation packages, as he builds a team to pursue what he calls “artificial superintelligence.”

Meta is competing fiercely with other tech giants, as these companies are also investing heavily in the AI field.

In a post outlining Meta's AI strategy, Mr. Zuckerberg signaled that the rest of this decade will be a major transition period for the development of artificial intelligence, and that the company's priority is to bring AI to its users./.
