According to artist Luong Xuan Doan, Chairman of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, over the past 80 years, from the first propaganda paintings, Vietnamese fine arts have accompanied the country through many historical upheavals.
Propaganda posters are an emotional voice, reflecting the breath of the times, of the Vietnamese people in all circumstances.
This achievement is thanks to the persistent and enthusiastic dedication of many generations of artists, who always maintain their faith and constantly create so that propaganda art can blend and closely connect with social life.
After nearly 20 years, the Vietnam Fine Arts Association has organized a specialized exhibition on political propaganda paintings with a large scale and high professional quality. The event not only contributes to honoring the value of the propaganda painting genre in the artistic life but also affirms the special role of fine arts in propagating and educating revolutionary traditions, encouraging the whole nation to unite, be self-reliant, and confidently enter the new era.
Painter Trinh Ba Quat, Head of the Graphics Association, Vietnam Fine Arts Association, said that the works displayed at this exhibition all closely follow the theme, accurately reflect the Party and State's innovative policies and viewpoints, and depict the spirit of the entire people in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Each painting is a strong message, expressing love for the homeland, national pride, and the country's aspirations to rise in the new era.
In the development process of Vietnamese fine arts, propaganda paintings always hold a special position.
Not only an effective means of propaganda, this genre of painting is also an art form rich in national identity, deeply influencing the spiritual life of the people through important historical periods: from the two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism to the cause of national construction and defense and the renovation period. The exhibition is open until August 31 at the Exhibition House 16 Ngo Quyen, Hanoi./.
