The United States has entered the war against Iran, having just attacked the Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan nuclear facilities, President Donald Trump announced via social media. The attack took place on the ninth day of the Israel-Iran conflict. Photo: @CNN.

“We have completed a very successful attack on three nuclear sites in Iran, Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan,” Trump said on Truth Social. “All planes are now outside of Iranian airspace. A full bomb load was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. No other military in the world could have done this. NOW IT’S TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention.” Photo: @CNN.

President Donald Trump said the goal of the airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites was to stop the "nuclear threat." "Our goal is to destroy Iran's nuclear enrichment capability and stop the nuclear threat posed by the world's number one state sponsor of terrorism," Trump said at the White House. Photo: @Maxar.

On the morning of June 22, Vietnam (ie the evening of June 21, US time), two sources close to this campaign said that the US used B-2 Spirit stealth bombers carrying GBU-57A/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) bombs to attack Iran's nuclear facilities. Photo: @Air Force Global Strike Command.

It is unclear how many B-2s were deployed, but The War Zone cited publicly available data showing that at least two groups of B-2s, codenamed Mytee 11 and Mytee 21, took off from Whiteman shortly after June 21. The stealth bombers headed west and then joined up with aerial refueling tankers in the waters off the coast of California. Photo: @Air Force Global Strike Command.

Some unconfirmed reports suggest that there were two groups of three B-2s each. Flight tracking data shows that four aerial refueling tankers were assigned to support each group of B-2s after the bombers took off from Whiteman Air Force Base. Photo: @ USA Today.

The B-2s flew over the Pacific Ocean , heading for Guam, and there were no orders to send the bombers further than the island. However, on the morning of June 22, Vietnam (ie the evening of June 21, US time), President Trump announced on the social network Truth Social that the US had completed a very successful attack on three nuclear facilities in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz and Esfahan. President Trump did not say how these facilities were attacked, and it is possible that the B-2s were secretly dispatched to attack new targets in Iran. It is very possible that this was a false flag move to cover the real strike force. It seems most likely that another group of B-2s was sent east, instead of west as has been publicly reported in the media, to secretly carry out these strikes. This is considered a completely calculated diversion. There are still many unknowns. The War Zone is looking into this and will report more when we have more solid information on this matter. The US has used B-2 Spirit stealth bombers carrying GBU-57A/B Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP), also known as "bunker buster", in new attacks on Iran's nuclear facilities. According to information from the US Air Force, a 13,607 kg MOP bomb, with 2,721 kg of explosives, is designed to reach and destroy the opponent's weapons of mass destruction located at heavily guarded facilities, especially the nuclear enrichment facility deep underground at Fordow in the mountains near the city of Qom, and this is considered the "heart" of Iran's nuclear program... Each B-2 bomber can carry 2 GBU-57A/B (MOP) bombs. Photo: @CNN.

According to updated information, US officials said that the US used 6 B-2 bombers to drop 12 GBU-57A/B bunker-buster bombs (MOP) on Iran's Fordow nuclear base alone. Photo: @ US Strategic Command.

The B-2 Spirit is known to be the US Air Force's top bomber. According to the US Air Force, with its flying wing design, composite materials and special coating, the B-2 can carry powerful firepower in a short time to any place in the world, penetrating defense systems. The four-engine B-2 can be armed with nuclear or conventional weapons, is flown by a crew of two, has a payload of 40,000 pounds, and has unlimited range with in-flight refueling. The bombers first flew in 1989 and saw combat action 10 years later in Operation Allied Force, the NATO-led intervention in the Kosovo humanitarian crisis, flying nonstop from the Missouri base to strike targets in Serbia, according to the US Air Force. The bombers then flew further missions to strike targets in Afghanistan in October 2001, during the early days of Operation Enduring Freedom. More recently, B-2s flew out of the joint US-UK base at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean to strike Houthi targets in Yemen. Photo: @ USA Today.

There are only 20 B-2s in the US Air Force, all based at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. Each bomber costs about $2 billion in today's dollars. Photo: @CNBC.
