Before withdrawing from the French market due to increasingly strict emissions regulations, Suzuki managed to leave its mark with a special version of the Jimny compact SUV. Named Jimny 55th Anniversary, this model marks the 55th anniversary of the first Jimny, and is also a solemn farewell to users in Europe. The Jimny 55th Anniversary stands out with its retro look. The car has a specially designed black grille, classic body decals, red fenders and a soft spare wheel cover with a rhinoceros print, a familiar symbol associated with the Jimny line. The black painted steel wheels add a strong look to the overall look, although not much different from the standard version, it is still enough to create a clear difference.
This is the version that Suzuki targets car collectors and personalizers. The design of the anniversary edition can also become an interesting source of car tuning inspiration for the Jimny player community in Vietnam. The anniversary edition is limited to just 55 units and will be sold exclusively in France for 28,955 euros (about 871 million VND). The first units are expected to be delivered to customers at the end of this month. Although the model is still selling well in many countries, Suzuki has not clearly announced plans for a new generation or major upgrades. Meanwhile, the 5-door Jimny version made in India is creating its own appeal and has the potential to expand its market share in Asia.
Prior to this version, Suzuki has introduced various special editions of the Jimny in many markets such as: Jimny Horizon in Germany, Jimny Mata in Italy, Jimny Heritage in Australia, Rhino in Malaysia and 4Style in Brazil. Each version has its own tweaks, serving each local taste. However, the future of the Jimny is still a question mark. The Jimny 55th Anniversary continues to use a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine for 101 horsepower and 130 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to all 4 wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission and the AllGrip Pro drive system, the foundation that makes the Jimny an outstanding off-road vehicle despite its compact size. The interior of the special edition Jimny retains the simple style inherent to this off-road vehicle. The vehicle is equipped with rubber floor mats for both the passenger compartment and the cargo compartment, a suitable choice for the needs of bad roads. On the center console, Suzuki added a special commemorative plaque to emphasize the limited nature of the version.
In terms of equipment, the car has a manual air conditioning system, heated seats, Bluetooth connectivity, lane departure warning, automatic headlights and traffic sign recognition. However, the car is not equipped with a 9-inch entertainment screen and LED lights like other high-end versions. Video : The story of Suzuki Jimny, an SUV that aims for freedom!
