The 2025 UEFA Super Cup, PSG vs Tottenham, was almost one-sided and in a way that few expected. The Premier League representative even created a 2-0 gap against the Champions League champion, with goals from Van de Ven (39') and Cristian Romero (48').

But Tottenham did not have a perfect match until the last minute, keeping the advantage until the 85th minute, then letting PSG shorten the score (Lee Kang-in) and Goncalo Ramos equalize 2-2 (90+4'), and then win 4-3 on penalties.

“ For 80 minutes, PSG showed that they did not deserve to win the European Super Cup. Tottenham deserved to win this match ,” Luis Enrique said frankly after the match.

“ We could see clearly they were in good form, playing a great game after about six weeks of preparation,” he added.

PSG have only been back in training for six days. Sometimes football is unfair. I have to say, we were very lucky to score two goals in the last 10 minutes. It's hard to play the way we want when you don't train and don't have time to do it.

Coach Enrique helped PSG have a great success in 2025 with the 5th trophy won, including Ligue 1, French National Cup, French Super Cup, Champions League, European Super Cup, recreating the achievement he achieved with Barca 10 years ago (La Liga, King's Cup, Spanish Super Cup, C1 Cup and FIFA Club World Cup).

As for Tottenham, although they regretfully missed out on the cup, coach Thomas Frank was optimistic: "Just through this Super Cup match, Tottenham proved that they can compete with any team in the world .

Tottenham played a great game. We were up against arguably the best team in the world. We played our game against PSG for 80 minutes, until they made it 1-2.

Even though we didn't win the final, there's a lot to be happy about and proud of about this team ."
