The death anniversary of Lord Nguyen Huu Canh and the Ba Chiem Son Festival are national intangible cultural heritages.

Dong Nai province plans to organize the 325th death anniversary of Thanh Hau Nguyen Huu Canh on June 10 and 11 (ie May 15 and 16 of the lunar calendar) at the Nguyen Huu Canh Temple relic complex (located in Hiep Hoa ward, Bien Hoa city). The death anniversary has many activities such as: Painting contest, photo exhibition about historical figures and the beauty of Bien Hoa - Dong Nai land, traditional cuisine area, unique Bien Hoa pottery exhibition along with many sports activities and folk games.

The main death anniversary ceremony (held on the morning of the 16th day of the 5th lunar month) with traditional rituals, including: flag raising ceremony, greeting ceremony, offering incense, gifts, speech in memory of the merits of Le Thanh Hau Nguyen Huu Canh, art performances, culinary space, artistic fireworks, contributing to traditionaleducation , introducing and promoting the destination of the relic to people inside and outside the province.

Previously, on June 3, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung signed a decision to recognize the traditional festival of the death anniversary of Thanh Hau Nguyen Huu Canh as a national intangible cultural heritage and to commemorate the contributions of famous general Nguyen Huu Canh (1650-1700) for his contributions in expanding the southern territory.

Minister Nguyen Van Hung also signed Decision No. 1663/QD-BVHTTDL to include the Ba Chiem Son Festival (Duy Trinh Commune, Duy Xuyen District, Quang Nam Province) in the list of national intangible cultural heritage. This is one of the typical traditional festivals of Quang Nam, associated with the worship of Mother Goddess - Bo Bo Thai Duong Phu Nhan, commonly known as Ba Chiem Son.

According to folklore, she is a goddess who blesses villagers to settle down and work, guarding a sacred land where the cultures of the Vietnamese and Cham people intersect. The festival is held annually on the 10th-12th of the first lunar month with full traditional rituals such as Tuc Yet, Chanh Te, royal procession, palanquin procession... The festival takes place in a bustling atmosphere with cultural and artistic activities such as hat bo, bai choi singing, boat racing, tug of war... creating a unique community atmosphere.

The festival's recognition as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage not only recognizes the historical and spiritual value of the festival but also affirms the role of the local community in preserving and promoting national cultural heritage.
