Boat capsized, two people died

Phu Yen Two fishermen in Tuy Hoa City left their boat to go squid fishing but were swept away by big waves.

Late on August 18, the fishing boat of Mr. Tran Van Tuan, 42 years old, carrying 6 crew members was operating in the sea about 60 nautical miles (nearly 108 km) southeast of Phu Quy Island ( Binh Thuan ).

At that time, two fishermen on the boat were fishing for squid. However, shortly after leaving the boat, the boat was overturned by a big wave, and the two people drifted far away. After many hours of searching, the crew on the boat recovered the bodies of the two victims.

The fishing boat is currently on its way to bring the bodies of the two fishermen ashore and is expected to arrive at Dong Tac fishing port (Tuy Hoa city) tomorrow.

In the past few days, the sea area from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau has had scattered showers and thunderstorms; southwest wind level 5, gusting to level 7-8, rough sea, waves 2-3 m high.

A month ago, two fishermen from Tuy Hoa City were on a fishing boat about 230 nautical miles off the coast of Ba Ria - Vung Tau when they went down to a boat to fish for squid and were also swept away by waves. Only one body was later found.
