With 2 weeks left until the Mid-Autumn Festival, star lantern making facilities in Bao Dap village (Nam Truc district, Nam Dinh ) are busy completing orders. The price of star lanterns this year has decreased slightly compared to last year.

The Bao Dap star lantern is completely handmade. The materials include bamboo, small steel wire, glue, colored paper, colored nylon (such as blue, yellow, red...) and jute bones for the handle.

Bao Dap star lanterns come in many sizes, the large ones are up to 1m in diameter, the medium ones are 50cm, the small ones are 30cm, and there are even large ones made to order.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuyen (Bao Dap village) shared: “Making star lanterns is busiest from the 5th to the 8th lunar month. During the 7th lunar month, everyone from old to young participates in making lanterns, the atmosphere is very bustling”.
