Forged documents to buy and sell hundreds of cars

On August 21, the Criminal Police Department ( Thanh Hoa Provincial Police) announced that it had just dismantled a ring of forging documents to buy and sell cars of unknown origin and cars mortgaged to banks. At the same time, 4 subjects were temporarily detained for the acts of "Abuse of trust to appropriate property" and "Forgery of seals and documents of agencies and organizations".

The four suspects in criminal detention include: Nguyen Tuan Anh (born in 1998, residing in Tho Dien commune, Tho Xuan district, Thanh Hoa); Bui Van Toan (born in 1994, residing in Cao Son commune, Luong Son district, Hoa Binh province); Dinh Huu Ngoc (born in 1998, residing in Vinh Hong commune, Binh Giang district, Hai Duong province); Nguyen The Thanh (born in 1982, residing in Giang Bien ward, Long Bien district, Hanoi).

Previously, through the work of monitoring the situation on cyberspace, the Criminal Police Department (Thanh Hoa Provincial Police) discovered a group of subjects who regularly bought and sold used cars of unknown origin, cars that were mortgaged in banks and other credit institutions. This group of subjects showed signs of falsifying documents of agencies and organizations to carry out the buying and selling of cars.

Investigation results show that these subjects have established a group called “Ngan Car Buying and Selling Association” on social networks to conduct transactions and sales. These vehicles have mortgaged papers and registered at banks. After a period of time, the owners do not pay the debt according to the mortgage contract and sell the vehicles. Because they do not have original papers, these vehicles are only sold for about 1/3 of the market price. To legalize, the subjects have forged bank mortgage receipts to use for buying and selling vehicles.

From the end of December 2023 until now, the above group of subjects has made fake documents to buy and sell hundreds of cars from fraudsters, abusing trust to appropriate property in many provinces and cities such as Da Nang, Binh Dinh, Nghe An, Hung Yen, Hanoi , Thanh Hoa...

The case is currently under further investigation.
