Mr. Hoang Van Bang, Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Lam Dong province, informed that after the arrangement, Lam Dong province has a natural area of 24,233.07 km2, a population of 3,872,999 people, with 49/54 ethnic groups living together, of which more than 683,000 are ethnic minorities, accounting for 17.6% of the province's population. The ethnic groups live from the Central Highlands mountains and forests to coastal communes, with many diverse and rich customs and practices. The whole province has 124 communes, wards, and Phu Quy special zone, with 5 communes in the land border area (Dak Wil commune, Thuan An commune, Thuan Hanh commune, Tuy Duc commune, Quang Truc commune) with 141.045km of land border adjacent to Mondulkiri province, Kingdom of Cambodia; has 192km of coastline.

Currently, the province has 312 legal religious establishments (10 establishments are ranked as provincial historical relics), 24 religious organizations recognized by the state with about 1,670,000 followers (accounting for about 43% of the province's population), 3,500 dignitaries, 6,700 officials; 1,292 legal religious establishments; 04 religious training establishments. This has created a colorful picture of culture, society, and beliefs, contributing to the socio -economic development of the province.
