Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho was moved to express his deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs - the outstanding sons of the nation who sacrificed their youth, blood and life for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, for the noble international friendship between the two peoples of Vietnam and Cambodia.

In a solemn atmosphere, all delegates, comrades and compatriots observed a minute of silence to commemorate and send off the remains of 32 martyrs – including 13 remains collected in Cambodia and 19 remains in the country – to rest in the beloved motherland. Unfortunately, the identities of all the remains collected in this period have not yet been determined.
From 2001 to present, Team K92 (Kien Giang Provincial Military Command) has organized 24 working sessions, collecting a total of 3,188 martyrs' remains in Cambodia, of which only 120 cases have been identified, accounting for 3.76%. In the 2024-2025 dry season alone, the Team has searched at 66 locations and collected 32 martyrs' remains.

Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho acknowledged and praised the bravery, dedication, and overcoming of countless difficulties and hardships of the officers and soldiers of Team K92 in their journey to carry out this sacred mission. At the same time, he expressed his sincere thanks to the Royal Government of Cambodia, the authorities and people of Kampot, Kep, Koh Kong and Preah Sihanouk provinces for their coordination and active support in the search and collection activities.
At the ceremony, the leaders of Kien Giang province affirmed that the search and collection of martyrs' remains is still a particularly important political task and a sacred morality of the entire Party, government and people. At the same time, they called on all levels and sectors to continue to pay attention to implementing policies for people with meritorious services, taking care of the lives of families of martyrs, wounded soldiers and people with meritorious services to the revolution.

“Although the war has ended, the pain of loss and the desire to find the graves of loved ones of many families are still intact. Each martyr’s remains brought back is a profound humanitarian act, a gratitude from today’s generation to the previous generation,” the Vice Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People’s Committee said emotionally.
