Initial information, at 14:23, Airbus A321 flight VN1804 from Hanoi to Dien Bien stopped waiting on taxiway S3 when Boeing 787 flight VN7205 to Ho Chi Minh City collided with the tail while moving on taxiway S.

The collision caused the Boeing 787's right wing to hit the Airbus A321's tail. As a result, the Boeing suffered damage to the right wing tip, and the Airbus suffered a torn vertical wing. There were some debris from both vehicles at the scene.

The two planes had to stop operations for technical inspection. At the time of the collision, there was no rain in the Noi Bai area and the light ensured good visibility.

The leader of Noi Bai International Airport said that immediately after that, the functional units inspected, pulled the two planes back to the parking position, cleared the taxiway and cleaned the scene. All passengers and luggage were brought back to Terminal T1. Vietnam Airlines arranged for passengers to switch to an alternative flight.

Authorities are coordinating to investigate the cause of the incident according to regulations.
