Buu Long Tourist Area offers free entrance tickets on August 20 to serve Dong Nai Food Festival 2025

(DN) - On August 13, Mr. Nguyen Danh Thinh, Acting Director of Buu Long Investment and Development Company Limited (the unit managing and operating Buu Long Tourist Area, Tran Bien Ward) said: Implementing the direction of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee on coordinating with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Dong Nai Provincial Tourism Association to organize Dong Nai Food Festival 2025, Buu Long Tourist Area will offer free entrance tickets on August 20, 2025, for tourists and locals to visit and experience the event.

Dong Nai Cuisine Festival 2025 will take place on August 20, 2025, at Buu Long Tourist Area. This is a practical event to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). This will be an opportunity to promote and introduce the richness and uniqueness of Dong Nai cuisine to visitors inside and outside the province, while promoting culinary tourism, contributing to stimulating tourism demand.

The Dong Nai Cuisine Festival 2025 event is chaired by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with relevant departments, branches and units to organize and implement with many main activities taking place during the festival such as: Setting the record for the largest "Fried Sticky Rice with Cashew Nuts" in Vietnam; cooking competition, model trimming competition; demo of Dong Nai Cuisine digital map; interacting with Master Chefs, influencers (KOLs); celebrating the founding anniversary of Dong Nai Province Chefs Association (August 20).

One of the notable highlights at this year's Food Festival is the event that set the record for the largest fried sticky rice with cashew nuts in Vietnam, made by professional chefs of the Dong Nai Chefs Association.

Up to now, the dish "The biggest fried sticky rice cake in Vietnam" has been confirmed by the Vietnam Record Book Center (now the Vietnam Record Organization) for Binh Quoi Tourism Unit (Ho Chi Minh City) in 2009, with a cake circumference of 187cm, diameter of 59.5cm and height of 41.5cm.

In 2023, Dong Nai's puffed sticky rice was recognized by the Asian Record Organization as an Asian record for specialty - cuisine. The puffed sticky rice is made from glutinous rice, sugar, and cooking oil by a chef in Dong Nai. Over time, the special deliciousness of the puffed sticky rice has been recognized by many people and has become a famous specialty of Dong Nai for decades.
