Rescue student in car accident
On the morning of April 22, on National Highway 19, through Bau Can Commune, Gia Lai Province (formerly Chu Prong District), a school bus overturned, injuring many people. The victims were then taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Among them, patient PNQ (15 years old) was hospitalized with a severely crushed right hand, heavy blood loss, complex fractures of the wrist and hand, foreign objects and a high risk of necrosis.
After performing all the steps of examination and imaging diagnosis (X-ray, CT scan), the doctors performed 3 consecutive surgeries, saving the hand and avoiding amputation.
This is a difficult case with severe injuries, requiring quick, accurate treatment and multidisciplinary coordination. This success demonstrates the high level of expertise and sense of responsibility of the hospital's medical staff.
Saving the life of a Laotian newborn baby
On the morning of July 15, the hospital received urgent information from Attapeu province (Laos) about a premature baby boy with severe respiratory failure, who was in the area near Bo Y International Border Gate (Gia Lai). At that time, the baby weighed only 1.9 kg, had cyanosis in the extremities, and could not breastfeed...
The Emergency Department and the Pediatrics Department immediately provided remote first aid instructions and organized a rapid response team that traveled more than 130 km to the scene. On the spot, the baby was actively resuscitated, given an IV, oxygen, kept warm, and taken to the hospital.
After only 48 hours of treatment, the baby's respiratory condition improved significantly, he started breastfeeding again and recovered well.
This is a special case with international elements, requiring a quick response and effective coordination between many units. Overcoming geographical distance, border procedures and limited emergency conditions, the hospital's medical team was proactive, professional and dedicated, promptly saving the life of the Laotian child patient.
