Inauguration and groundbreaking of 250 projects to celebrate 80th National Day

To celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), at 9:00 a.m. this morning (August 19), the inauguration and groundbreaking ceremonies of 250 projects and works will be held simultaneously.

The Ceremony was held online from the central point (National Exhibition and Fair Center) to 79 points of 34 provinces and cities and broadcast live on VTV1.

These 250 projects and works have a total investment of 1.28 million billion VND, of which 89 projects and works have been inaugurated; 161 projects and works have started construction.

Projects and works contribute over 18% of the country's GDP value in 2025 and over 20% in the following years.

According to Deputy Minister of Construction Le Anh Tuan, among the projects, 129 projects are funded by the State with a total investment of VND478,000 billion (accounting for 37%) and 121 projects and works are funded by other sources with a total investment of VND802,000 billion (accounting for 63%). FDI capital includes 5 projects with a total investment of about VND54,000 billion.

By sector, there are 59 projects and works in transport infrastructure; 44 in civil and urban works; 57 in industrial works; 36 in technical infrastructure; 22 in social housing; 6 in agriculture and rural development; 3 in culture and sports; 12 in education; 1 in national defense and 10 in health.

There are 8 national key projects, 46 group A projects; 155 group B projects and 41 group C projects. Projects using state budget capital will create a strategic infrastructure framework to guide private investment.

Typical of the inaugurated projects are: The National Exhibition Center in Dong Anh Commune (Hanoi) of Vingroup Corporation - a project with a very complex design, beautiful architecture, and super-long, super-heavy steel structure; Rach Mieu Bridge project - a project that shows the efforts of the Vietnamese Construction industry in mastering the technology of building large-span cable-stayed bridges, the design and construction contractors are all Vietnamese and the construction time was shortened by 4 months.

Regarding the groundbreaking project, this morning, at the Research and Development Zone, Hoa Lac High-Tech Park (Hanoi), Viettel Group will start construction of the Viettel Research and Development Center, a typical project to research high-tech equipment, especially semiconductors, AI, and Data. The total investment is about 10,000 billion VND.

At the end of the Ca Mau-Dat Mui expressway (Khai Long hamlet, Dat Mui commune, Ca Mau province), Truong Son Construction Corporation started the Ca Mau-Dat Mui expressway project; Dat Mui-Hon Khoai port traffic route; Hon Khoai dual-use general port.

In addition, the construction of a commercial service complex combined with an entertainment park in Da Nang by Da Nang Capital, with a scale of 76.9 hectares and a total investment of 79,790 billion VND, began.

Inauguration of the Nghe An Oncology Hospital construction project, with a total investment of 1,259 billion VND and a scale of 1,000 beds; Hai Anh Wind Power Plant Project, worth 1,565 billion VND...

Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Tran Van Son said that the inauguration and putting into operation of works and projects and the simultaneous commencement of large-scale works will contribute to creating momentum and position for the country's socio-economic development, strengthening regional connectivity; contributing to economic growth of 8% or more in 2025 and double-digit growth in the following years of the 2026-2030 period; creating jobs, livelihoods and improving people's lives.

The inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony of 250 projects in all three regions of the North, Central and South is an important political event, contributing achievements to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day.
