On August 9, the first Congress of the Rach Gia Ward Party Committee, An Giang Province, for the 2025-2030 term, entered its official session, with 250 official delegates representing more than 8,000 party members attending the congress. This is one of three party committees selected by the Standing Committee of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee to organize a model congress for other commune-level party committees to learn from experience in organizing congresses. To meet the requirements of the tasks set out in the new situation, Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai requested Rach Gia ward to correctly and fully identify the position, role, potential and great opportunities of the ward in the overall new development space of the province; promote political determination, realize the vision, innovate thinking, closely follow reality to propose appropriate and feasible programs, projects and action plans to exploit and promote all potentials and advantages, comprehensively develop Rach Gia urban area to be worthy of the region and the whole country, creating a strong influence for the overall development of the province in the new era.

In the master plan for the ward's development in the coming time, Secretary of the An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Tien Hai requested Rach Gia ward to pay special attention to exploiting the potential of "night economy" and "marine economy", have a plan to develop urban areas reclaiming the sea, build high-tech agricultural products associated with eco-tourism, experiential tourism and develop related services to create differences and unique features compared to other urban areas.

The Congress announced the decision of the Provincial Party Standing Committee to appoint 32 comrades to the Party Executive Committee of Rach Gia Ward and 11 comrades to the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Rach Gia Ward for the 2025-2030 term; the decision to appoint the Inspection Committee of the Party Committee of Rach Gia Ward consisting of 5 comrades. Comrade Mai Hoang Khoi was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of Rach Gia Ward for the 2025-2030 term.
