Opening of the first human resource training course for the International Finance Center

GD&TĐ - About 30 students participated in a training course at Vietnam-Germany University to develop human resources for the International Finance Center project in Vietnam.

On the morning of June 27, at Vietnam-Germany University ( Binh Duong ), the opening ceremony of the first training course serving the process of building an International Finance Center in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang took place.

The course lasted from June 27 to 29, bringing together senior financial experts from Germany and students who were leaders and officials from Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang, along with representatives from a number of relevant ministries, branches and commercial banks.

The lecturers are leading experts in the field of finance such as Professor Jan Pieter Krahnen, member of the Academic Advisory Council of the German Federal Ministry of Finance . He has also been a member of advisory groups to the German Government and the European Union on banking sector reform.

Along with that is Professor Michael Binder, who has experience teaching executive courses at large organizations such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB).

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc said that in order to take advantage of the opportunities brought by the International Financial Center, Vietnam needs to proactively prepare a high-quality, professionally trained workforce capable of meeting the strict standards of international investors.

Along with that, the International Financial Center needs a team of managers capable of creating international trust and leading the game.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc pointed out that successful financial centers in the world such as London or New York all affirm that high-quality human resources are of utmost importance.

Government leaders have repeatedly emphasized the key role of training this human resource for the development of the International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.

"Both Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang have built a force of capable officials and experts to implement the National Assembly's Resolution on the International Financial Center. Attending today's training course will provide trainees with international practical lessons, including dos and don'ts, to help them make timely and correct decisions. This ensures the success of Vietnam's International Financial Center, serving the country's development goals," said Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc.

Dr. Ha Thuc Vien, Vice President of Vietnam-Germany University, said that the training program is designed to equip students with necessary knowledge, helping them to work in groups and develop together an action plan to establish a feasible International Finance Center, suitable for Vietnam's reality.

The course will harmoniously combine the contents related to the development, completion and supervision of a financial system in general and the contents related to the development, completion and supervision of an International Financial Center in particular.

"We are committed to working hard to ensure the best results in teaching and learning, contributing to the successful implementation of the Party and Government's major policy of establishing an International Financial Center in Vietnam," said Mr. Vien.

This training course is organized to concretize the conclusion of Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh during the working session with Vietnam-Germany University in April 2025.

Following the direction of the Government, Vietnam-Germany University is assigned a central role in research, training and development of high-quality human resources to serve the International Financial Center.

To achieve this goal, the Vietnamese-German University has established a separate Research and Development Team for the training program. This team has the participation of leading experts of the university and prestigious professors from Goethe University Frankfurt (Germany).
