Border guards call on boats to take shelter from storms

The Department of Agriculture and Environment reminds functional units to coordinate with localities in coastal and lagoon areas to promptly notify owners of vehicles and boats operating at sea to proactively prevent and avoid; organize calls for boats to return to safe shelters before 8:00 p.m. on August 29, 2025; maintain communication to promptly handle situations. People's Committees of communes and wards continue to inspect and review response plans for natural disasters/storms, heavy rain, floods, and landslides according to the "four on-site" motto.

According to the Hue City Hydrometeorological Station, at 7:00 a.m. on August 29, the center of the tropical depression was at about 15.8 degrees North latitude; 113.5 degrees East longitude in the sea southeast of Hoang Sa special zone. The strongest wind near the center of the tropical depression was level 6 - 7 (39 - 61 km/h), gusting to level 9; moving northwest at a speed of about 15 km/h.

Forecast until 7:00 a.m. on August 30, the tropical depression will be located at 17.3 degrees North latitude -109.0 degrees East longitude; over the sea from Nghe An to Hue City; intensity level 8, gust level 10; moving in the West Northwest direction, about 20km/h. Due to the influence of the tropical depression circulation that later strengthened into storm No. 6, from August 29-31, Hue City is likely to experience a widespread period of heavy rain and rain with a total rainfall of about 100-200mm, some places over 300mm.

During the day and night of August 30, on the mainland of Hue City, the wind will gradually increase to level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7 - 8; Coastal areas and the North of the city will have winds of level 6 - 7, gusting to level 8 - 9. Areas near the storm center will have winds of level 7, sometimes level 8, gusting to level 9 - 10. Waves 2 - 3 m high, rough seas; areas near the storm center will have waves of 3.0 - 4.0 m, rough seas. Beware of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts.
