At around 9:30 a.m. on August 29, at the Da Lat area, km16 of the Gia Luan - Ben Beo cross-island route through Hai Son village (Cat Hai special zone), a landslide occurred, with rocks falling onto the road with a volume of about 200m3.
At the time of the incident, because this was a less traveled route (the main route to Cat Ba is a coastal route), there was no loss of life or property.

After the incident, the People's Committee of Cat Hai Special Zone proactively mobilized human resources and equipment to fix the problem, clear rocks and soil on the road, and ensure safety and environmental sanitation.
During the implementation process, Cat Hai special zone has temporarily suspended traffic activities on Gia Luan - Ben Beo route through Hai Son village; arranged forces to set up traffic lanes, guide traffic for tourists moving through the coastal route, ensuring no traffic jams during the holiday.
During the field inspection on the morning of August 31, comrade Tran Van Quan, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, highly appreciated the proactiveness and positivity of Cat Hai special economic zone, and pointed out: The handling of Cat Hai special economic zone only temporarily ensured sanitation and cleared the road surface of the landslide area, without a specific assessment and no handling measures to bring traffic activities on the above route back to normal.
At the scene, there is still a risk of landslides on the positive slope of Da Lat area, posing a potential traffic safety risk for people and vehicles.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested Cat Hai Special Zone to preside over and work with the Department of Construction and the Department of Agriculture and Environment to urgently handle the above area with appropriate measures, with funding from the City's Disaster Prevention Fund, striving to bring traffic activities on the above route back to normal before September 3, 2025.
Organize information and propaganda to inform people and tourists about traffic diversion to handle incidents, avoid traffic jams in the area, especially during the September 2nd holiday. Continue to monitor developments in the surrounding area, promptly detect incidents; arrange forces to warn and guide traffic in the area.
The Department of Construction urgently coordinates with Cat Hai Special Zone to organize emergency handling of the landslide area to ensure immediate safety. Organize traffic diversion early and from a distance to ensure traffic safety and avoid congestion. Urgently invite a consulting unit to specifically assess the cause and propose a plan to completely handle the incident.
