More than 4.7 billion VND to care for victims of Agent Orange

According to the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, the province currently has 6,239 victims of Agent Orange; of which 5,134 people are entitled to policies and 1,105 people are not yet entitled to policies.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the Association at all levels always upholds the spirit of responsibility and is active in organizing and mobilizing resources. At the same time, strengthen coordination with functional agencies to organize activities to visit, give gifts, and care for victims and their families. Notably, during the Lunar New Year of At Ty, the entire Provincial Association mobilized over 5,100 gifts for victims and their families infected with Agent Orange. In addition, the Association at all levels mobilized financial support for medical examination and eye surgery for 560 poor victims and people in difficult circumstances; gave gifts, awarded more than 100 scholarships, donated wheelchairs, built 3 new "Agent Orange Shelter" houses, repaired 1 house for victims... With a total amount of money and gifts converted into cash of over 4.7 billion VND, reaching 120% of the yearly plan.

The work of caring for victims of Agent Orange has always been of interest to all levels of the association.

In the last 6 months of the year, the Association at all levels will continue to coordinate to care for and help Agent Orange victims and their families in difficult circumstances. At the same time, proactively advise the Party Committee and the government to issue documents directing and leading the State management of activities related to the Association's work and the work of resolving regimes and policies for victims of Agent Orange/dioxin.

In addition, carry out the work of reviewing, making statistics, and reporting to prepare for handover when directed by superiors; determine the Party's correct policy on merging provinces and centrally-run cities, ending the operation of district-level administrative units, reducing commune-level focal points, increasing staff at the grassroots level, transferring mass organizations assigned by the Party and State to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; strictly comply with the assignment and decisions of competent authorities.
