On June 11, Mr. Le Huu Hung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Kim Tan Commune (Ia Pa District, Gia Lai Province), said that heavy rain caused the culvert to overflow the stream in Mo Nang 2 Village (Kim Tan Commune), completely isolating 319 households in the village.
Accordingly, heavy and widespread rain occurred in the area from 9:00 p.m. on June 10. At around 2:00 a.m. on June 11, due to the heavy rainfall combined with water from upstream, the spillway across Dak Pi Hao stream in Mo Nang 2 village was flooded about 2 meters deep and over 80 meters long.

The flooding isolated all 319 households in Mo Nang 2 village, making it impossible to travel. By 9:20 a.m. the same day, the water had not receded and the current was still strong. The commune authorities had sent forces to stand guard at both ends of the flooded area to ensure safety and prevent people from crossing on their own.
Mr. Hung said that heavy rains have caused flooding at this location for many years. People want to soon invest in upgrading the spillway to ensure traffic safety during the rainy season.
According to a quick report from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ia Pa district, due to the impact of heavy rain, in the past 24 hours, there has been rain in Ia Pa district, from moderate to heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain. Heavy rain, water from upstream flooded some culverts into residential areas, damaged infrastructure and initially affected agricultural production.
According to preliminary statistics, heavy rain flooded 4 spillways; collapsed 120m of the fence of Vo Thi Sau Primary School (Chu Rang Commune) and flooded some areas of crops. Because it is still raining in the district, the flooding is relatively large, so the area and extent of damage cannot be determined.
