Captain Hoang Van Be - Head of Loc Ha Town Police shared: "In the past few days, when receiving information about storm No. 1 affecting the area, we deployed forces to stay on duty, monitor weather developments, and ensure security and order in the area.

Thanks to that, the authorities and local people promptly discovered Nguyen Van Q. (born in 2012, resident of Thach Chau commune, Thach Ha) being swept away by the waves and rescued him safely to shore. Before that, we had continuously reminded people about the risks of unsafety during rough sea season, but many people still ignored the danger. At the time of the incident, there were still many tourists and people having fun on the beach."

Not only in Ha Tinh , on the morning of June 14, at Cua Lo beach (Nghe An), authorities and local people also promptly and successfully rescued more than 20 tourists who were swept away by waves. The incident occurred when the tide receded, high waves created dangerous undercurrents. Despite warnings, many tourists still went swimming, leading to more than 20 people being swept away from shore.

At Thien Cam beach (Cam Xuyen district), from June 12 to 14, under the influence of storm No. 1, there were times when the sea was rough, the waves were high, and the wind was strong, but many people still ignored the warnings of the authorities to have fun and swim in the sea.

Danger lurks when people "carefreely" have fun when the sea is rough and the waves are big.

"The whole group thought it was okay so we went swimming, because it had been a long time since we had been here, this trip had been planned for several months. Everyone was eager to go swimming after a long time of stressful work. At first, seeing the big waves, we were a bit hesitant, but seeing everyone around still going in, and the beach was also crowded, we thought it wouldn't be too bad" - Ms. NTM, a tourist from Hanoi shared.

Mr. Ha Van Bich - a member of the Rescue Team, Thien Cam Tourist Area Management Board shared: “On normal days, we still take turns on duty from 5am to 9pm to observe and remind tourists not to swim in dangerous areas or exceed warning limits. During the rough sea season, even playing near the shore is very risky, but many tourists still ignore it to experience fun activities under the sea. We have to follow each group of tourists, constantly reminding and asking people to move to shore. To ensure absolute safety, people's awareness is very important, there are many situations that almost led to unfortunate accidents.”

The Rescue Team of Thien Cam Tourist Area Management Board continuously reminds tourists and warns of danger when the sea is rough.

The rough sea season is not only dangerous when people are swept away by the waves, easily pulled into undercurrents, but also prone to cramps for those who cannot control their swimming technique. Notably, most tourists do not use life jackets, even having fun beyond the warning limit.

To limit unfortunate accidents that occur during the rough sea season, currently, all beaches in Ha Tinh have rescue forces on duty to remind and warn people. However, in the face of unusual weather developments, people need to proactively monitor to plan their entertainment and choose appropriate activities.
