Mai Dieu Ly once cherished the idea of making a jazz album but was hesitant because the genre was selective of listeners. Now, she confidently performs jazz in a natural, soaring yet still intimate way. "Gio qua mua thu nho" includes 10 songs and 1 bonus track, including 6 compositions by Trinh Cong Son newly arranged with jazz sounds, along with 2 challenging blue jazz songs by Giang Son ("Thu can"; "Co va mua"). In particular, "Gio mua hanh phuc" - an exclusive song composed by Phong Vu is presented in 2 versions, bringing many experiences.

Mai Dieu Ly shared: "Singing Trinh's music with jazz is my way of telling my own story in a dreamy language, but still preserving the original beauty." She compared each song to an emotional painting, from "Chieu mot minh qua pho" to "Rung xua da gat"... Musician Hoang Trung Duc contributed greatly with modern jazz arrangements, helping her expand the range of Trinh's music.
