On June 7, the first Hanoi Taekwondo Open Festival - Thang Long Cup 2025 organized by the Hanoi Taekwondo Federation officially opened.
In his opening speech, Chairman of the Hanoi Taekwondo Federation Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed: This is a key event to promote the taekwondo movement in Hanoi in particular and the Northern region in general, towards celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
"In particular, with the participation of thousands of athletes of all age groups, including many young people and children, the Federation hopes that through this Taekwondo martial arts festival, it will contribute to the physical training and comprehensive development of the young generation," said Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung.
The festival took place on a large scale, with the participation of more than 1,000 athletes from 49 units of Hanoi and 8 provinces, cities and sectors in the North registered to participate in the tournament, competing in the categories of breakthrough (men's individual; women's individual), standard power (men's individual; women's individual; mixed-women pairs), team performance, confrontation (men's and women's individual)...

Immediately after the opening ceremony, there were team performance competitions, competition for ages 18-30, boxing competitions for ages 12-14, U30, U40... The competition program took place over 2 days, from June 7 to 8, at Bac Tu Liem Gymnasium, Hanoi.
The tournament rules stipulate that each athlete can only participate in a maximum of 2 competitions for each age group. The Organizing Committee applies the current taekwondo competition rules of World Taekwondo (WT).
To ensure the success of the tournament, the Organizing Committee requires all competing athletes to have a health certificate issued by a competent health authority. Units must purchase competition insurance for participating athletes.
The Organizing Committee will award commemorative medals and certificates to participating athletes. Along with that, award medals and certificates to athletes who achieve first, second and third place in each competition; award the team cup to the units that achieve achievements.
