Hanoi: Bringing cell phone into 10th grade exam room, candidate suspended

TPO - According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, in the afternoon of the foreign language exam, a candidate was given a ticket and suspended from the exam for bringing a cell phone into the exam room.

In the afternoon, 426 candidates skipped the foreign language exam. Notably, at one exam site, a candidate brought a cell phone into the exam room, was discovered by the invigilator, who made a record and suspended the exam.

Before the exam, leaders of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training required secondary schools to have students study the regulations and have a firm grasp of the regulations on what items are allowed in the exam room and what items are prohibited.

Before the exam, during the regulation study session, the exam supervisor continued to inform the candidates about the exam regulations, emphasizing that, to avoid leaking the exam questions, all candidates are not allowed to bring mobile phones or transceivers into the exam room. Candidates who bring technological devices into the exam room will be recorded and suspended from the exam.

The testing sites have also prepared areas for storing candidates’ personal belongings and belongings away from the testing sites. However, during the exams, there are still cases of candidates violating the rules. Some candidates intentionally bring technological devices into the testing room to cheat, but there are also cases of candidates accidentally putting their phones in their pockets and forgetting about them.

After entering the exam room, a family member called anxiously to ask, the phone rang, the invigilator discovered it and made a report. There were also cases where the candidate hid the phone in his skirt, when he stood up the phone fell down, and was discovered by the invigilator. In such cases, the exam will be suspended.

Nearly 103,000 candidates registered for the 10th grade entrance exam in Hanoi. However, at the end of the first day of the exam with 2 subjects: Literature and Math, each subject had more than 400 candidates drop out.

Tomorrow morning, June 8, candidates will continue to take the Math exam, concluding the entrance exam for non-specialized 10th grade high schools in Hanoi.
