Scientific conference: 80 years of August Revolution and National Day September 2 - historical value, contemporary significance and practical application in the development of Lai Chau province

Comrades: Le Chi Cong - Master, Principal of the Provincial Political School, Chairman of the Scientific Council; Ta Ngoc Thuy - Master, Vice Principal of the Provincial Political School, Vice Chairman of the Scientific Council co-chaired the Workshop.

In his report to introduce the workshop, comrade Le Chi Cong - Principal of the Provincial Political School stated: The August Revolution in 1945 and the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was a great historical turning point, opening an era of national independence associated with socialism. After 80 years, the historical value and contemporary significance of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2 have not faded and have been increasingly affirmed in the flow of national history. This workshop has profound political, scientific and practical significance. This is also an important academic forum to affirm and deepen the historical value and contemporary significance of important events, thereby creatively applying them to the development practice of the province in the new period.

During the preparation process, the Organizing Committee received 26 presentations from leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, departments, branches, faculties, and offices of the School, and a large number of lecturers and staff. The content of the presentations focused on two major groups of issues: Researching and affirming the historical value and contemporary significance of the August Revolution and National Day September 2; applying those values to the province's development practices.

At the workshop, 12 presentations clarified the leadership role of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh; the strength of national solidarity; Ho Chi Minh's thought on national independence associated with socialism; the spirit of seizing opportunities in the revolution; the significance of the Declaration of Independence in the context of international integration and building a socialist rule-of-law state. Many presentations analyzed the requirements for building a streamlined, effective and efficient political system; maintaining political and social stability, protecting the country's borders; developing a green, fast and sustainable economy ; implementing sustainable poverty reduction; building a new cultural life; educating the younger generation on patriotic traditions; promoting the role of women and socio-political organizations; promoting digital transformation in management and people's lives.

The workshop also discussed and clarified key issues such as: Affirming the historical value, contemporary significance and everlasting vitality of the August Revolution and National Day September 2; emphasizing the lessons of opportunity, national solidarity, and the leadership role of the Party; creatively applying the spirit of the August Revolution to the current cause of building and developing Lai Chau province, associated with innovation of the government model, socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security, improving people's lives, promoting digital transformation, etc.

In his concluding remarks at the workshop, comrade Le Chi Cong - Principal of the Provincial Political School, Chairman of the Scientific Council affirmed: The scientific workshop on the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2 - historical value, contemporary significance and application to the practical development of Lai Chau province has achieved comprehensive success, affirming its profound theoretical value, clear practical significance and strong influence among cadres, lecturers, students and the people. With the achieved results, all cadres, lecturers and students continue to promote the revolutionary spirit, national pride, creativity, responsibility and determination, turning historical values and theoretical lessons into motivation to realize the development aspirations of the province. The workshop is a vivid proof that history not only affirms the strength, stature and intelligence of the Vietnamese people in the past but also is a resource and a compass for our nation as well as Lai Chau to firmly step on the path of sustainable development, integration and prosperity...
