British scholar affirms that the Communist Party of Vietnam is promoting the legacy of previous generations.

British scholars believe that the legacy of late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will continue to be promoted in Party building and national development under the leadership of General Secretary and President To Lam.

The legacy of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will become an indispensable part of the work of building the Party and the country of Vietnam, under the leadership of the new General Secretary and President To Lam .

Mr. Kyril Whittaker, a researcher of Vietnamese politics and history and a member of the Communist Party of Great Britain (CPB), made the above comments in an interview with a VNA reporter in the UK.

Mr. Kyril Whittaker said that the learning process and working experience in many positions have helped General Secretary and President To Lam accumulate knowledge and experience to take on a leadership role.

British scholars believe that the legacy of late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong will continue to be promoted in Party building and national development under the leadership of General Secretary and President To Lam.

Mr. Whittaker said that the commitment of General Secretary and President To Lam in his inaugural speeches showed that the Communist Party of Vietnam has absorbed the legacy of previous generations of leaders and theorists, including President Ho Chi Minh, late General Secretaries Le Duan and Truong Chinh, in the cause of building and developing the country according to the tradition of the Vietnamese Revolution.

Referring to the fight against corruption in Vietnam, Mr. Whittaker believes that this fight will continue to be carried out actively and effectively under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

British scholars believe that as the experienced head of the Central Steering Committee on anti-corruption and anti-negativity, General Secretary and President To Lam will continue to deal with corruption at all levels effectively and positively, ensuring the Party's steadfastness in adhering to revolutionary ethics.

Mr. Whittaker said that Vietnam's anti-corruption campaign and its impact have really impressed many international friends.

Commenting on the five priorities in Vietnam's foreign policy highlighted by General Secretary and President To Lam, the British scholar said that these priorities demonstrate the characteristics of the bamboo diplomacy of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong with "firm roots, strong trunk, flexible branches," creating new partnerships in which both sides benefit, based on trust and peaceful cooperation, while maintaining Vietnam's independence, national sovereignty, defense and political ideology.

Discussing the implementation of the 13th Party Congress Resolution's goal of striving to make Vietnam a developing country with modern industry and high average income by 2030, Mr. Whittaker commented that Vietnam is on the right track to achieve these goals as the country's economy and people's lives have continuously improved year by year.

According to Mr. Whittaker, the construction of infrastructure such as the Hanoi metro line or new roads, along with construction projects in rural areas, helps to increase connectivity and transport goods not only domestically but also internationally, promoting trade, opening up new markets along with existing markets.

The British scholar emphasized that unlike in some countries where economic growth is placed above the interests of the people, leading to a decline in people's living standards, Vietnam's economic growth is achieved thanks to a consistent policy of putting people first and at the center of the country's politics and economy.

According to Mr. Whittaker, this is also affirmed in the article "Determination to build a strong Party, a rich, democratic, fair and civilized Vietnam" by General Secretary and President To Lam, which affirms: "Firmly maintain the stance, viewpoint and practice of "people are the root", "People are the subject and center of the innovation process"; all guidelines and policies must truly originate from the lives, aspirations, rights and legitimate interests of the people, taking the happiness and prosperity of the people as the goal to strive for."

Mr. Whittaker assessed the article as a detailed summary of the roadmap for Vietnam in the coming years, in which General Secretary and President To Lam clearly stated the challenges at home and abroad, encouraged the Party to maintain its revolutionary tradition, continue to preserve solidarity - as President Ho Chi Minh emphasized - firmly adhere to Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh Thought, and the Party's people-centered Renovation policy.

The British scholar noted that the article pointed out the new General Secretary's determination to promote the Party's tradition, uphold revolutionary ethics, and take the people as the root, when he emphasized the vital importance of revolutionary ethics "Continue to promote Party building and rectification; resolutely and persistently fight against individualism, against ideological, moral, and lifestyle degradation, against corruption and negativity in the Party..." and "Closely combine power control with doing a good job of political and ideological education, education on revolutionary traditions, and building a truly clean and strong Party"./.
