In the solemn and jubilant atmosphere of the 80th National Day Celebration of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the hearts of millions of Vietnamese people beat together with pride. Joining the crowd heading to the historic Ba Dinh Square, artists and soldiers on the cultural front shared their emotional feelings about the honor and responsibility of being a part of the national festival.

Hearts beat together proudly in the historic Ba Dinh Square

On an autumn morning in Hanoi , from all directions, people flock to the center of the capital, where the historic Ba Dinh Square is splendidly decorated. A sea of bright red flags flutters in the wind, dyeing the whole space brightly. Along the streets, tens of thousands of people stand solemnly, holding flags and flowers, their eyes shining with joy, waiting for the parades. The majestic sound of military music resounds, mixed with resounding cheers, creating a symphony of national pride, of an unshakable spirit of solidarity.

Joining the parade of the Cultural- Sports Block, rapper Den Vau, a representative of the young generation of artists, could not hide his emotions. Den Vau shared that the feeling of being a part of this important event was completely different from being just a spectator standing from afar.

“Today, I am here as a citizen, like many others, but fortunately I am part of the parade. When I walked through Ba Dinh Square, I felt something extremely sacred. It seemed like all the eyes of our ancestors, of the heroes who sacrificed their blood and bones for the Fatherland were watching, accompanying our generation today, giving us more strength to fly higher and further,” Den Vau recalled.

For People's Artist Lan Huong, who has been involved in important national events since she was 12 or 13 years old, that feeling of pride remains intact, even deepening over the years. People's Artist Lan Huong shared that the memories of the parades past Uncle Ho's Mausoleum and the stage are always unforgettable moments.

“Although I have participated many times, every time I pass by the grandstand or Uncle Ho’s Mausoleum, I still feel a strong emotion. When the parade passes through the streets filled with people waving and welcoming me, the enthusiastic cheers and applause move me to the core. It is such a great honor, a feeling of being immersed in the heart of the nation,” People’s Artist Lan Huong choked up.

Sharing the same emotion and pride, singer Hoang Thuy Linh could not hide her feelings when she joined the parade of the Culture and Sports Block. Hoang Thuy Linh shared: “I feel extremely proud to join the people's artists and meritorious artists in the common spirit of the solidarity block. It is a lifelong honor to be able to contribute a small part to this important ceremony.”

At that moment, every step and every look of the artists contained infinite gratitude towards previous generations, those who made history so that today's generation can live in peace and independence.

From pride to aspiration to spread love of country

The pride that surged in that sacred moment did not stop at personal emotions, but was also transformed by the artists into determination to contribute, into the aspiration to spread love for their homeland and country.

Standing in the middle of the “sea” of red flags with yellow stars, Den Vau feels more clearly the responsibility of an artist. He confided: “I always tell myself that I have to do more to contribute to my homeland. I also always tell my fan community that we are living in wonderful peaceful days, enjoying the best things. So let us work together to develop ourselves, strive and contribute to the common development of the country.” The love for his homeland, which has been ingrained in his works, promises to be expressed even more intensely and passionately in the future.

From the honor, Hoang Thuy Linh also deeply expressed the role and responsibility of an artist in peacetime. She confided: “In wartime, the role of an artist is to encourage the spirit of soldiers on the battlefield. Now in peacetime, I really want to encourage those who are maintaining peace for Vietnam.”

Hoang Thuy Linh affirmed that she has never forgotten and always kept in mind the spirit of national solidarity, and is always proud of the Vietnamese people. Linh shared: “The most important thing for an artist is to be creative and today, being able to sing in peace to praise our ancestors and speak about current history is something that should be done and must be done.”

For People's Artist Lan Huong, who has experienced the difficult years of the country, she appreciates the value of peace even more. “Today's peace was exchanged for so much blood. Therefore, from the Government to each citizen, we must work together to preserve this peace in a sustainable way. Only with peace can there be development and happiness,” People's Artist Lan Huong affirmed.

People's Artist Lan Huong also emphasized the role of artists as a "spearhead" on the cultural and ideological front: "Artists carry within them the blood of spreading love for the country and Vietnamese history through literature, theater, and cinema. We hope to receive more attention so that art can maximize its power, nurture the soul, educate patriotism for future generations, help them understand and be proud of their national origins."

The artists' sharing, combined with the joyful atmosphere of the great festival, spread a strong message of solidarity and the responsibility of each individual in the work of building and defending the Fatherland. The pride of today is the flame that ignites the desire to contribute, to continue writing glorious pages of history for the Vietnamese people./.
