Hoa Phat has just received the bulk carrier The Momentum with a total capacity of 110,000 tons. This is the largest ship of Hoa Phat Group, serving the strategy of expanding the maritime transport fleet and preparing for the phase of accelerating production at the Hoa Phat Dung Quat Iron and Steel Complex.

The ship is operated by Hoa Phat Shipping Joint Stock Company, a member of the Group. Compared to the Kamsarmax ship with a total capacity of about 80,000 tons that Hoa Phat is operating, The Momentum ship allows for an increase of nearly 40% in cargo volume per trip. The fleet upgrade brings higher operational efficiency, especially for long-distance international shipping routes and the need to import large volumes of raw materials such as iron ore and coal from markets such as Australia, America, and Inner Asia.

The Momentum is designed to operate on international sea routes and can call at deep-water ports such as Dung Quat, which is one of the main transit points, receiving most of the raw materials such as ore and coal for Hoa Phat's steel plants.
