Observant viewers have noticed an interesting commonality among the recent beauty queens. From Miss Universe Vietnam 2025, Miss Tourism Vietnam Global 2024, Miss Grand International 2024, to Miss Universe Singapore 2024, all wore evening gowns by designer Thuong Gia Ky for the final night.

To date, eight beauty queens, including the new Miss Cosmo Vietnam 2025, have worn his evening gown in the moment of winning the crown.

8 beauties from both Vietnam and abroad wore dresses designed by Thuong Gia Ky and were crowned, including: Miss Grand International 2024, Miss Petite International 2025 (beauty contest for short women) 2025, Mrs Globe International 2025, Miss Universe Singapore 2024; along with Vietnamese representatives such as Miss Idol Vietnam 2024, Hoa Ban Beauty 2025, Miss Tourism Vietnam Global 2024 and Miss Universe Vietnam 2025.

According to designer Thuong Gia Ky, what moved him was not only the victory of the beauties wearing his dresses, but also the image of them shining with confidence on stage.
“I am happy to see the girls shining on stage in sparkling evening gowns, no matter what the result is. For me, each dress is a journey to nurture dreams together," he said.

One of his memorable moments was the dress for Mrs Globe International 2025. The beauty Anuradha Garg flew from India to Vietnam to meet the designer in person.
“She did not hesitate to travel thousands of kilometers, flying from India to Vietnam to meet me and together we came up with ideas, chose materials, and took measurements for the dress. That is the trust and respect that I am extremely grateful for,” Thuong Gia Ky said.

Every time he works with a contestant, Gia Ky always starts by carefully understanding their goals, desires, style orientation and personality. He said: "There are beauties who have participated in many contests before, so they are very knowledgeable about materials, designs and performance techniques, which makes Ky surprised and very excited."

Further analysis, the designer pointed out that the difference between making contest dresses for Vietnamese and international contestants lies not in the style but in the working process.
“For international customers, taking measurements remotely, consulting online and time zone differences are big challenges. My team and I have to give very detailed instructions so that customers can take their own measurements accurately, while domestic customers find it much more convenient to try on dresses and make adjustments.”

However, when Dan Tri reporter asked about the secret to help beauties win beauty contests, Thuong Gia Ky said that he does not have any fixed formula for a coronation dress, but only unchangeable principles.
He shared that those principles are: Conformity with the competition criteria, the theme of the competition that year, the culture of each country if it is an international contestant and especially the design must be in harmony with the body, demeanor and personality of the wearer. "The dress is just a catalyst for the wearer to spread their own aura", designer Thuong Gia Ky affirmed.

Despite receiving many compliments, the winning designs have also become the subject of controversy. He admitted: “The pressure is there and it is not easy to avoid. But I have learned to accept everything calmly. Praise or criticism, each opinion is a perspective. The most important thing to me is: The wearer feels right, feels beautiful, and is proud to wear that design."

After these memorable milestones, designer Thuong Gia Ky continues to dream further. “I want to go deeper into the art of performance combined with fashion , where dresses are not just costumes, but language.”
He hopes one day to be able to organize a fashion show imbued with Vietnamese cultural spirit but told through modern images, without language barriers.

He also did not forget to send a message to young people who love fashion: “Fashion does not need you to compete, fashion needs you to be honest. Your own mark comes from perseverance and personal identity.
