The Party Committees and authorities of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces determined that supporting accommodation and transportation in the first years for cadres transferred from Bac Kan to Thai Nguyen to work is necessary to solve immediate difficulties, stabilize life, work with peace of mind, and contribute to the common development.
Immediately after the policy of merging the two provinces, the functional departments of Thai Nguyen province urgently coordinated with relevant units of Bac Kan province to review and count the housing and transportation needs of officials. In the spirit of responsibility, the two provinces have developed a comprehensive, reasonable, flexible and economical plan with the goal of ensuring conditions for officials to work with peace of mind.
Thai Nguyen province has surveyed agencies, units and schools in the area to arrange accommodation for officials, including about 90 rooms at schools in the province such as Thai Nguyen College, Thai Nguyen Medical College; 28 rooms at the Provincial Farmers' Association; along with about 100 rooms at Vocational College No. 01 ( Ministry of National Defense ), Thai Nguyen Industrial College (Ministry of Industry and Trade).

New "wave" of investment in Thai Nguyen
In addition, two large-scale social housing projects are also being implemented. Specifically, the “Green House” project in Tich Luong ward with 476 apartments is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, along with another worker housing project with 689 apartments, which will create an abundant supply of good quality for the staff transferred from Bac Kan.
Thai Nguyen province has also surveyed the housing fund from 13 existing apartment buildings, of which the TECCO Complex project alone has up to 700 commercial apartments, with areas ranging from 40 to 61m², which can meet the diverse needs of households.
Along with the housing plan, the two provinces also pay special attention to the travel needs of officials. Based on the actual survey, the Thai Nguyen Department of Construction has surveyed three main types of transportation including: buses, fixed-route buses and contract buses. The existing bus routes between Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan are assessed to be of good quality. A notable point is the plan to support two fixed bus trips per week: Monday morning from Bac Kan city to Thai Nguyen and Friday afternoon from Thai Nguyen back to Bac Kan. This solution is especially useful for officials whose families stay in Bac Kan.
From this preparation, it can be seen that the Party Committee and the authorities of Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces have the responsibility to create the best conditions for the staff from Bac Kan to move to the new province of Thai Nguyen to work. Initial records show that the majority of staff have expressed satisfaction with the current arrangement plans.
Many officials shared that at first they were quite worried about where to eat and stay when returning to Thai Nguyen. But when they received information about accommodation arrangements and support, they felt reassured. These positive responses show the proactive preparation for the process of merging the two provinces, helping officials feel secure in their work, promote their capacity, and contribute to the development of the new province.
