Coach Polking is excited about the special Cup of the 2024/25 National Football Super Cup

In the 2024/25 National Football Super Cup - THACO Cup, a special Super Cup version was born with a completely new creation and made a strong impression with a height of 72cm, a width of 50cm, and a weight of 3.5kg.

Inspired by the Dong Son bronze drum and the Lac bird, the Cup was designed by artist Nguyen Anh Vu from Tien Phong Joint Stock Company, made of silver-plated copper, completely handcrafted by King Gold artisans, a symbol of national pride, the desire to conquer and the belief in victory in the new era.

"I want to thank the designer for bringing a very special, very beautiful and really worth waiting for trophy," coach Alexandre Polking shared at the press conference announcing the 2024/25 National Football Super Cup - THACO Cup.

This year’s National Super Cup, taking place at Thien Truong Stadium on August 9, will witness a fierce competition between Nam Dinh Steel Blue - the current V-League champion and Hanoi Police - the National Cup champion. These are two ambitious teams and possess the best quality squads in the V-League today.

The focus will certainly be on the direct confrontation between national team stars like Nguyen Quang Hai ( Hanoi Police) and Nguyen Van Toan (Nam Dinh Green Steel).

With home advantage, the team from Thanh Nam aims to open the new season with a title. However, Cong An Ha Noi with a squad of experienced players is equally determined, promising to bring a top match.

Not only the special Cup, this year's award ceremony also comes with a commemorative medal designed in a uniform and solemn manner to honor groups and individuals with outstanding contributions to Vietnamese football.

In particular, FIFA representatives will directly attend the match, a mark showing the growing stature of the National Super Cup. In addition, VAR technology will also be applied, contributing to improving the professionalism, transparency and fairness of the competition between the two champions.

With highlights both on and off the field, the 2024/25 National Football Super Cup - THACO Cup promises to not only be the opening match of the season, but also a real football festival for Vietnamese fans.
