Tourists check in at the market at the top of the pass in Dong Khanh Son commune early in the morning. |
At the top of the pass, where the 2025 farmers' trade fair of Dong Khanh Son commune will take place, farmers prepare neat and eye-catching booths. Ms. Tro Thi Hop, a farmer in Chi Chay village, said that she participated in a joint booth of people from 3 villages: Chi Chay, Ma O and Ta Nia. In particular, she participated in the Ama Cuu wine product, a traditional product of the Raglai people. The wine is made from natural leaf yeast and has a distinctive, rich flavor.
In addition, Ms. Cao Thi An - Head of Doc Trau village was busy preparing the stall. Ms. An said that since it was set up, many "cloud hunters" in the morning have come to ask to buy goods. The market helps ethnic minorities learn more about prices, markets, and buyers' needs; at the same time, it helps people improve their sales skills. She hopes that more markets will be held, especially during the fruit season in this area.

The market was held in Khanh Son commune with a joyful and bustling atmosphere. A female shopper said: “This morning I knew there was a market so I came early to buy green papaya and papaya flowers. After boiling the papaya flowers in a few water to reduce the bitterness, they are mixed with green papaya and eaten very deliciously.”

At the market of Tay Khanh Son commune, the stalls of farmers, cooperatives, and businesses are neatly arranged. Talking to us, Ms. Cao Thi Minh Thap - a member of Ta Giang 1 village shared: "Participating in the market, we have a very interesting chance to meet and interact with customers. Through this, we also have the opportunity to promote the culture, people, and specialties of this land".
The market attracts many tourists to visit, learn and shop. |

Through research, each market has its own unique characteristics. The products brought to the market are diverse, typical of this land such as: durian, jackfruit, wild bamboo shoots, wild vegetables, potatoes, cassava, sugarcane, bananas... and many agricultural products with deep processing content.
Durian is still the agricultural product that attracts the most attention at the markets. |
The three markets mentioned above are one of the activities under the Project "Enhancing the resilience of small-scale agriculture to water security due to climate change in the Central Highlands and South Central Coast" (SACCR) in Khanh Hoa. Mr. Huynh Quoc Thuyen - Director of the SACCR Khanh Hoa Project Management Board said that the market aims to promote activities of introducing, promoting, consulting, buying and selling agricultural products and agricultural materials in the locality; expanding the market for products and contributing to increasing people's income. At the same time, it is also an opportunity for farmers, cooperatives, cooperative groups and businesses to meet, exchange, find partners, connect supply and demand, link cooperation to develop production and business and contribute to expanding value chains in agricultural production.

It is known that the SACCR project is implemented with funding from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) through the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Central Management Board of Irrigation Projects (CPO) in the provinces of Dak Lak , Lam Dong and Khanh Hoa. In Khanh Hoa, in addition to the market, there are also direct support activities for people such as: Vouchers to exchange for agricultural materials, irrigation equipment for production of private and public ponds; training and capacity building for farmers on how to access credit, finance, markets; appropriate agricultural production techniques, adapting to climate change...
It is known that on August 22, 3 similar markets were held in the communes of Khanh Vinh, Nam Khanh Vinh and Bac Khanh Vinh.
